World Day to Combat Desertification: The Woman, Her land, Her Rights.

#AwkaWindowonAmerica, in collaboration with the College of Postgraduate Studies, and the Department of Forestry and Wildlife celebrates the World Day to Combat Desertification. The program captioned: "Regreen the Earth" is very relevant and important in today's world where desertification is a major environmental problem.

It's also interesting to know that the event includes several presentations on the theme, a tour of the teak plantation at the College of Postgraduate Studies, and the planting of trees in the Heritage garden which was flagged off by the Provost of the College, Prof. Philomena Igbokwe. These activities help to raise awareness about the importance of reforestation and conservation of our environment.

The history of the teak plantation at the College and the research already conducted by the Department of Forestry and Wildlife, Nnamdi Azikiwe University provides valuable insights and knowledge on how to effectively manage and maintain such plantations.

Overall, the collaborative event is a great initiative towards inspiring more people to take action towards protecting and regreening our environment and combating desertification.
